Numerous hiking trails meander through the heavily wooded hills of the 502-acre park. The peaceful camping area is particularly attractive to families and senior citizens, while a well-developed youth camping area is popular with youth organizations.
The nearby Trice-Dedman Memorial Woods, owned by The Nature Conservancy and cared for by the park staff, is one of the best examples of presettlement forest in northwest Missouri.
