Located on the grounds bordered by High, Mississippi, President and West Streets, the Capitol is a dignified Beaux-arts structure built 1901-03 that features a solid copper 8-ft-wide by 15-ft-high gold leaf-covered eagle sculpture atop the 180-foot dome. The building houses the executive and legislative chambers, Supreme Court and State Hall of Fame. Guided tours are available by appointment at no charge; self-guiding tours of the building are also permitted.

Building open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm; closed major holidays. Call in regards to guided tours.
