Beaverhead Rock State Park

Sacajawea recognized this huge landmark, resembling the head of a swimming beaver, while traveling with the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The park is undeveloped and unsigned. It is also designated as "primitive," which means that there are no fees collected when you visit there.

The park is located 15 miles north of Dillon on Highway 287. You can also travel 14 miles south of Twin Bridges on MT Hwy 41.
