Columbia Falls is located in Flathead County 12 miles east of Whitefish and north of Kalispell on 40 near Hungry Horse Dam and Whitefish Lake.

It is the gateway city to Glacier National Park.

The Flathead River flows past Columbia Falls on its way to Flathead Lake.
