Drummond is located in
Granite County, and was named after a trapper, Hugh Drummond. He operated a line of traps and made his camp where the railroad station now stands. Many people flooded into the area with the gold rush of the 1860s.
Drummond is now a working agricultural area located adjacent to I-90 at the junction with Hwy 1.
