This is the perfect way to pack many aspects of the park experience into a single adventure. This paved two-lane highway is a National Historic Landmark that extends 52 miles, spanning Glacier National Park and crossing the The Continental Divide at Logan Pass. At 6646-feet, Logan Pass is not open except mid-June to mid-October, but the lower sections of the highway remain open year-round.
Due to the great popularity of the trip, use early morning and late afternoon hours for travel, particularly in July and August. This also provides the best light for photography.
