Hungry Horse Dam

Completed in 1953, Hungry Horse Dam was then the fourth largest and highest concrete dam in the world. Just a stone's throw from Glacier National Park's west entrance, the dam stands 564 feet high and impounds the Hungry Horse Reservoir. The visitor center is located at the dam and an elevator takes yo to the power generating area. There your self guided tour begins. The dam is located a short drive of Hwy 2 in Hungry Horse.
