The seat of Garfield County, Jordan is located 86 miles northwest of Miles City at the junction of Hwys 200/59. Small grains and livestock are the mainstay of the area, with tourism increasing.

Nearby are the Charles M. Russell Wildlife Refuge and the Hell Creek State Park, which provides access to Fort Peck Lake.
