There are more than 1300 mineral specimens, many from well known world localities, on display in the Mineral Museum. Fluorescent minerals are displayed in a separate dark room. Minerals from Montana, including those from the Butte mines, are prominently displayed, and you can see a 27.5 ounce gold nugget recently discovered in Montana.

Located on the campus of Montana Tech of University of Montana. Open 8:00 to 5:00 weekdays year round, also on weekends in summer. Group reservations required.
