Placid Lake State Park

Search Missoula Montana

Located on a branch of the Clearwater River, Placid Lake is known for its good trout fishing and smooth water. A number of facilities are provided for camping, picnicking, boating and swimming. Interpretive panels give an account of the early logging practices, to which the massive western larch stumps in the area are mute testaments.

The park has 40 campsites, which are limited to RVs of 25 feet or less. The maximum length of stay is 14 days in a 30-day period. Day use fees are charged per vehicle and there is a camping charge.

The park is 3 miles south of Seeley Lake on MT Hwy 83, then 3 miles west on county road.
