The Rockies are the most impressive mountain range in the United States. In Montana, they pass through Glacier National Park on the north side of the state and Yellowstone National Park on the south. The Lewis and Clark Expedition crossed the Rockies in 1805 going west to the Pacific and in 1806 on their return.
