Ross Creek Cedar Grove Scenic Area

The Ross Creek Scenic Area is located on the Kootenai National Forest in NW Montana. This 100-acre scenic area is home to a grove of giant 500-year-old western red cedars. Some of these trees have reach 12 feet in diameter and 175 feet in height. A paved nature trail with informational signs leads to the grove with benches along the way. There is not overnight use, but Bad Medicine Campground is located nearby.

There are handicapped accessible restrooms and places to picnic at the trailhead. From Troy, travel west 3 miles on Hwy 2, then turn onto MT 56 and travel 21 miles. Turn right onto Ross Creek Road and go another 4 miles.
