The picnic area is located about 2 miles south of the Canadian border. Access is by foot or horse only; no motorized vehicles are allowed. A trailhead for horses is located two tenths of a mile west of the foot trailhead. There is no stock loading ramp. From
Eureka, go west one mile on Highway 37. Turn onto Sophie Lake Road and follow 5 miles.
