Ciudad del Carmen is located in the State of Campeche and is known as La Perla del Golfo (the Pearl of the Gulf).
The main festivities that are celebrated on the island are the Feast of the Virgin del Carmen from July 10th to 31st and the Fair of the Guanal from August 16th to 30th, with processions, fire-works and a carnival.
