Theatre New Brunswick was founded in 1969 by Artistic Director Walter Learning with a mandate to "bring professional theatre to the people of New Brunswick." As a regional theatre company, TNB's role is to encourage the people of the province help to develop a life-long passion for live theatre; to develop a province-wide audience for entertaining and challenging theatre including works from the Canadian repertoire; to foster the development of the region's artists; and to train artists and technicians in the interpretation and realization of theatrical works. The theatre takes particular pride in that each performance, regardless of the venue, is as high in quality as is possible.
