Frisco North Carolina

Frisco is located in Dare County on Hatteras Island between Buxton and Hatteras along Highway 12 on the shore of the Pamlico Sound within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore near the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore Pond.

General Billy Mitchell is honored with an airfield named for him at Frisco. This famed Army Air Service officer used the local airstrip to bomb battleships off the coast on September 5, 1923. This act was one of the major factors leading to the establishment of the modern United States Air Force.

Comments: This place IMHO seems to have lots of grumpy folks in stores. Downtown traffic seems congested. My wife and I spent time in here not long ago. There seem to be sudden storms in the afternoon. Prices of homes have gone up since the last time we were here. To have a well spent afternoon, make a point of visiting Frisco Native American Museum. This is a great place.
