As the community leader in health care, Iredell Memorial Hospital Health Care System offers a modern facility with state of the art equipment and a dedicated caring staff of nurses, physicians, technologists and support personnel. It is that combination that earned the hospital accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
Founded in 1952 and opened in 1954 as a not-for-profit facility, Iredell Memorial's mission has been to provide quality care at a reasonable cost, and to lead the way in preventive health care. While they have more than doubled their size, they have held true to their mission, remaining the county's only locally owned not-for-profit hospital. That means all the proceeds from services are re-invested into their health care system to benefit the communities in which they serve.
