The museum presents a definition of the time, place and ideas that constitute the notion of the New South. Such facets of Southern history as cotton farming, textiles, race relations and economy are addressed in permanent exhibits; changing exhibits introduce specific subjects of importance to the New South. Interactive displays let visitors shuck corn, pick cotton, and experiment with various other tasks. A media gallery presents oral histories and allows for research. Open Tuesday-Saturday 11am-5pm; closed holidays.
