Cayuga is located on the banks of the Wild Rice River in the southeastern corner of the state in Sargent County about 60 miles south-southwest of Fargo.

Nearby outdoor recreation can include trips to Lake Tewaukon and Tewaukon National Wildlife Refuge about 5 miles to the south.
