Finley North Dakota

Finley, incorporated in 1903, is located in eastern North Dakota in western Steele County about 45 miles southwest of Grand Forks and 70 miles northwest of Fargo. The town won its place as the county seat in 1915 in a vote over Hope which is located about 15 miles to the south-southeast.

Local recreational opportunities include a 9-hole golf course with sand greens, outdoor heated pool, bowling alley, ball diamonds and two city parks. Area lakes and rivers provide ample fishing, hunting, hiking and exploring opportunities. In addition, huge Devils Lake is about 50 miles to the northwest.
