Since opening its doors in 1952, Mountrail Medical Center (formerly known as Stanley Community Hospital) has grown with community support and determination. The original facility provided accommodations for 20 patients. Today the hospital provides comprehensive medical care with 44 professional and support staff and 20 physicians, courtesy and consulting staff, with 25 acute care beds. Supported by patient revenue and philanthropy, the hospital is one of the most important assets of this community. It continues as it was established, with a tradition of excellence and a rich heritage of care and concern. They offer Swing bed services, 24 hour emergency care and have an onsite rural health clinic. Mountrail County Medical Center is a joint venture of Mountrail Bethel Home in Stanley and Trinity Health in Minot. They were approved as the second Critical Access hospital in North Dakota.
