Palmer's Spring State Historic Site

Palmer's Spring served as a weigh station on the Fort Totten-Fort Stevenson Trail. It was on this site in 1868 that a mail wagon was attacked by Indians, killing three 31st Infantry soldiers. Located about 11 miles southeast of Esmond.
