Throughout its history the Museum has collected, preserved, exhibited and interpreted art. Today, its Permanent Collection contains more than 2,400 pieces including regional art, traditional American Indian art, contemporary art and traditional folk art. The importance of the Museum's preservation role is underlined by the state of the art collection care areas in the new home of the Museum and by the trained professionals who care for the Collection on a daily basis. The exhibit schedule in the new facility includes a three year cycle that reveals the entire Permanent Collection.
