Valley City

"The City of Bridges"

Valley City is located in eastern North Dakota in Barnes County (of which it is the county seat) just north of I-94 about 70 miles west of Fargo on the banks of the Sheyenne River.

Valley City is known as the 'City of Bridges' with over 14 that cross the river. A self-guided walking tour takes one to the eight most significant and historical of the bridges. In addition, the city is at the northern end of the Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway.

The city is home to the Valley City State University for those seeking a post-secondary educational experience.

Outdoor recreation is close at hand at Lake Ashtabula about 10 miles north of town. For golfers, the city offers Valley City Town & Country Club and Bjornson Park Public Golf Course, both 9-hole layouts and open to the public.
