Dead Timber is located adjacent to the Elkhorn River with 2 ponds formed by an oxbow. Located on the west bank, the area features mature timber on the upland bluffs and open meadows on the lower portion. Wildlife abounds in this little recreation area with the Powderhorn Wildlife Management Area located on the west and south boundary of the park.
