In 1928, Evelyn Brodstone Vestey and her brother Lewis Brodstone donated funds to build a hospital in
Superior in memory of their mother Mathilde, who was an advocate of local healthcare. Hailed as the finest hospital serving a town the size of
Superior, Brodstone Memorial Hospital provided quality care to those in need, regardless of their ability to pay. The tradition of medical excellence in that 25-bed hospital has carried on through the years and Brodstone Memorial Hospital grew with the community.
Today, Brodstone Memorial Hospital continues to grow and they are in the process of expanding their Physical Rehabilitation, Surgery and Outpatient Services Departments. They are also adding a primary care clinic in Nelson, working toward their mission of improving the quality of life in the surrounding area.
