Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo

Search Omaha Nebraska

The Henry Doorly Zoo has evolved from the small Riverview Park zoo, established in 1894, into a world class tourist attraction and a leader in environmental education. The zoo encompasses 110 acres that contain such rare and endangered species as white tigers, snow leopards, lowland gorillas, white rhinos, and pandas. In the Scott Aquarium, visitors can walk through an underwater tunnel beneath sharks, view playful penguins, or walk amidst thousands of brilliantly colored fish.

There is also an African veldt area, one of the world's largest free-flight aviaries, and an underwater polar bear exhibit.

A 2.5 mile steam train ride through the grounds is offered daily.
