Situated in an 1889 Union Pacific depot, the museum has a waiting room, the depot agent's office, a freight room and a baggage room with exhibits that depict the evolution of wagon, train, and automobile travel. Also on the grounds are the 1884 Loup River Freighters Hotel, an 1898 Baptist Mission Church, a log cabin , the Boyd Ranch House and the county's first frame schoolhouse. Museum hosts many special events including the Annual "Wagons West Day" in June, a Christmas Tree Walk in December, and monthly and special programs.
