Wahoo is located in Saunders County (of which it is the county seat).
Wahoo is located north of Lincoln and southwest of Omaha, off of Hwy 77; Pioneer State Recreation Area is nearby.
Wahoo was named for the bush which grows along the creek which passes the edge of the town. The Indian name for the bush, which looked as if it was on fire, is "WAHOO".
Some recreation facilities in the area include: Wahoo Civic Center, Wahoo Senior Citizen Center, six municipal parks, swimming pool, baseball & softball fields and Wahoo's very own county club.
