Center Sandwich
|

|
Located in Carroll County, near the east end of Squam Lake, and bordered on the north by the Sandwich Mountains, Center Sandwich is the principal village of the Sandwich region. It was also a link in the underground slave railroad from Sandwich to North Conway, including the nearby Durgin Covered Bridge. Now a summer resort and craft center, the area was a favorite of poet John Greenleaf Whittier.
