Nestled in New Hampshire's Franconia Notch, this four season resort offers spectacular vacation enjoyment in the White Mountains. The resort was modeled after a European castle called the Schloss Mittersill in the Pinzgau Valley of Tirol Austria. Originally opened in 1945, it has maintained the Austrian flavor and ambiance of the original resort even after many remodeling projects. Located 3/4 of a mile from Franconia Notch State Park, visitors will also enjoy a scenic train ride, on the Mount Washington Cog Railway, through the mountains and up Mount Washington nearby.
