Barrington is located in Camden County, in the Delaware River Region. Barrington is part of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-New Jersey metro area.

Not until Gloucester County was split in the mid-19th century into three counties (Gloucester, Atlantic, and Camden) did Barrington become part of Camden County.

The towns of Haddonfield and Collingswood are a few miles north.
