Cresskill is in Bergen County, in Gateway Region. Cresskill is near Paramus, Closter and River Edge. This is a small community at the edge of a heavily-populated area, near the Palisades State Park, on the west bank of the Hudson River across from Yonkers. Tenakill Brook, Alpine Country Club and the Montammy Golf Club is less than a mile away. The name 'cresskill' refers to 'cress' or watercress, and 'kill' is Dutch for 'creek'.
