Named for Fort Lee, the Borough of Leonia is in
Bergen County, in the
Gateway Region, near I-80. Like many of its neighboring communities, Leonia is part of the densely populated New Jersey Palisades at the shores of the
Hudson River facing
New York City. Famous residents of Leonia were physicist Enrico Fermi, author Robert Ludlum, and actor Alan Alda.
