This 1,114-acre urban-based park faces Liberty Island, site of the
Statue of Liberty National Monument and
Ellis Island--the point of entry for millions of immigrants of an earlier era. The park, which has a view of the New York City skyline, features a picnic area and playground. The historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal, from which the early newcomers departed, is also in the park. The toll ferry
Miss Freedom makes daily trips to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Admission to the park is free.
The park is located in Jersey City, directly across from the southern tip of Manhattan.
