The Borough of Neptune is one of many heavily populated communities lining the Atlantic coast of
Monmouth County. Neptune City is on a large lagoon of the Shark River before it reaches the
Atlantic Ocean a little further west. Nearby are
Avon by the Sea,
Ocean Grove, State Highway 138 leading to I-195,
Allaire State Park, Shark River Golf Course, and Shark River County Park.
