The Paulinskill River is located in the Skylands Region of northwest New Jersey. Starting just north of Newton, it tumbles and wanders for nearly 30 miles before flowing into the Delaware River. In some spots it is more than 60 feet across, and moves in big, slow pools and crashing pockets. An abundant supply of rainbow and brown trout keep anglers coming back to the Paulinskill year after year. The best fishing is probably at Blairstown, about 15 miles south of Newton.
