Wheaton Village is a 60-acre re-creation of a glassmaking community. Glassmaking demonstrations are given daily in the working 1888 glass factory; a narrator provides a description of the process. On the grounds are the Museum of American Glass, a lake, a playground, the Down Jersey Folklife Center, a stained-glass studio, an 1876 one-room schoolhouse, the 1897 Palermo train station, a general store, a train ride, and picnic facilities. Food is available. Phone or check website for hours of operation. Closed major holidays.
