Pecos is in San Miguel County, and in the Northeast New Mexico region. To find Pecos, just go southeast of Santa Fe between Santa Fe and San Jose along Highway 63 near the Santa Fe National Forest. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,161, an increase of 149 since 1990.
