Take Highway 70 East over the Organ Mountains approximately 11 miles. Park at the turnout at the top of the pass and hike about 100 yards to the overlook. You'll be able to see the
Rio Grande to the west and on a clear day the White Sands glimmering in the east. At the nearby Aguirre Spring Campground, just a couple miles east after you crest the pass, you can hike, mountain bike, picnic or camp. The remote beauty is stunning. Bring your own water.
