You can take a step back in time at Caleb Smith State Park Preserve. The Preserve provides hiking, cross-country skiing, nature trails, and fishing as well. Comprised of freshwater wetlands, ponds, streams, fields and upland woods, the park is nestled in the middle of a suburb. The park is an excellent place to pursue fly fishing as well. The preserve is a refuge for wildlife and a place for people to develop an awareness and appreciation of the natural world. Directions: Take the Long Island Expressway (495) to Exit 53 (north) to Exit SM 3 East to Smithtown, onto Jericho Turnpike/Route 25 (east) for three (3) miles to the park.
