Fort Edward is located in
Washington County 4 miles SE of Glenn Falls across the
Hudson River between Fort Miller and Hudson Falls and in the
Northern Region of the state. It is along Highway 4 near the Champlain Canal.
Fort Edward is part of the Glens Falls, New York metro area.
The population grew with construction of the Champlain Canal.
