Katonah is located northeast of
New York City off I-684 on Hwy 35 in the
Southern Region of the state. Katonah is part of the
New York, New York metro area.
The original site of Katona is a half mile north, beneath the New Croton Reservoir. Residents moved the village between 1895-1898 to make way for the reservoir. Well-known residents have included: George Soros, financier and Ralph Lauren, fashion designer.
