Originally called Barnums Monster Classical and Geological Hippodrome, the roofless building was unveiled in 1874, with events ranging from chariot races, waltzing elephants, to fire-eating freaks. The last 30 years include Ali vs. Frazier in 1971, the Knicks winning 4 Eastern Conference Championships and 2 NBA Championships, and the Rangers one Stanley Cup (1994). The Garden contains convention space and facilities for seven simultaneous major events. Home to the Knicks and Rangers.
