New Windsor is located in
Orange County across the Hudson from Beacon on the southern edge of Newburgh along Highway 9 on the banks of the
Hudson River near West Point in the
Southern Region of the state.
New Windsor was George Washington's headquarters for stretches of the Revolution. Well-known residents have included George Clinton and his nephew DeWitt Clinton, governors.
