Established in 1846, this is a public institution offering undergraduate degrees in liberal arts and sciences, architecture and planning, engineering, health-related professions, medicine, and management. There are 11 undergraduate and 16 graduate schools. The 1350 acre campus is in a suburban area 3 miles north of Buffalo. Including residence halls, there are 157 buildings, some of them historic. Fraternities, sororities, and over 420 clubs and organizations are on campus. Tours of the campus are available through the admissions office.
