Tappan is located in
Rockland County just north of
Yonkers on the Palisades Interstate Parkway on the banks of the
Hudson River in the
Southern Region of the state. Known for the hatching and denouement of the Arnold-Andre conspiracy. George Washington stayed here several times during the Revolution. He was here during the trial and execution of Major John Andre, co-conspirator with Benedict Arnold in the planned takeover of West Point.
