Circleville is located in south central Ohio in
Pickaway County (of which it is the county seat) about 20 miles south of
Columbus along U.S. Highway 23 on the banks of the Scioto River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 12,107, an increase of 441 since 1990.
Local attractions include Hargus Lake and A. W. Marion State Park about 5 miles northeast of town and Tarlton Cross Mound about 10 miles to the east-southeast.
