Akron Children's Hospital

Akron Children's Hospital is a full-service pediatric medical center for children from birth through adolescence, as well as burn victims of all ages. The hospital houses Burn Trauma Center, Pediatric Trauma Center, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, Cystic Fibrosis Center, Genetic Center, Heart Center, Arrhythmia Center, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Fetal Treatment Center, Sports Medicine Center, Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, and Palliative Care Center. Within the hospital, they provide an array of ancillary services such as rehabilitation, child life, social work, respiratory therapy, nutrition, and blood bank. It has 13 laboratories in areas such as critical care, virology, cytogenesis and DNA studies.
