Galion is located in northern Ohio in southeastern
Crawford County on the banks of the
Olentangy River about 50 miles north of
Columbus and 50 miles south of
Sandusky Bay.
Local recreation is centered around Clear Fork Reservoir about 10 miles east of town as well as Charles Mill Lake 20 miles to the east.
Golfers can choose between Galion Country Club, a private club but with a reciprocal guest policy and featuring an 18-hole layout and Valley View Golf Club, a semi-private club with an open guest policy also featuring an 18-hole course.
